Today we began with Daily 5, continuing with yesterdays strategy of making connections to prior knowledge. Many students make connections unintentionally, and I would like them to become more aware of it. We then did some rounds of write to self. I met with some students to think about writing goals they should aim to achieve.
We then had math. In math class we continued with number lines from 0-100 and 0-1000. Students worked independently to complete the given task.

To end the day we set up a new book for grammar. I would like to spend a few hours each week, learning parts of speech and grammar rules to ensure more success in writing.

What book did you read today? Could you make any connections with it?
