Today we began the day with Daily Five. Our stamina is growing so well, it is up to 16 minutes! That is a huge improvement from the beginning of the year. Students worked on read-to-self (concentrating on their fluency), work-on-writing (continuing to remember capital letters and periods), and word work. Tomorrow we will have a spelling test.
Next, we had math. In math, we worked on a range of word problems. Tomorrow we will have our math test. I know that the students have been working really hard to understand key concepts.
To end the day we had unit. Only a few students are finishing their posters now, which is great. They will be completely finished tomorrow. The rest of the class researched a variety of expressions that had more than one symbol. The students really enjoyed making connections to the colors, and different ways of expressing the same thing.
