Today we began the day with Daily Five. Students worked on four different rounds today: Read-to-Self, Read-to-Someone, Word-Work and Work-on-Writing. Tomorrow students will be tested on their words they have been working with. Next week will be easier as spelling will be sent home for homework,
Next we had math. We worked our way through some word problems, though many students found it difficult because they did not take the time to read the question. Tomorrow I will be using physical examples to help students understand the process of word problems.
To end the day we had unit. During unit, students began to publish their symbol for their country of birth. They truly look wonderful! To end our unit we did an activity about plural nouns. Students had to use their rules they were given on Monday to change singular nouns to plural nouns. It was challenging, but a great way to use their grammar book for reference.
